The Annual General Meeting of Sciath na Scol will be held in Páirc Uí Chaoimh on

Thursday, 3rd September at 7.30 p.m. sharp.

Please forward this email to the person responsible for Sciath na Scol activities in your school.

Football fixtures will be distributed on the night to all participating schools.

Please read the information below carefully and note all dates in your diary. Please be aware that dates may be subject to change.

Football games will begin the week of 7th September. If your school is unable to play that week, please arrange to play two games the following week.

Any motions for the AGM must be submitted by 12 noon on Tuesday, 25th August.

Please return all cups won during the 2025 Sciath na Scol Football Competitions at the AGM. Cups must be clearly labelled with the name of your school and the relevant Roinn.

The Football Finals are scheduled for the weeks beginning 2nd and 9th November. We will have a limited number of days available during these weeks.

Please contact the office by the end of September if your school has an issue with a specific date for finals. If your school qualifies for a final, we can accommodate a maximum of one unavailable date per school, due to the limited number of days available. Ideally, schools should be prepared to participate on any day during these two weeks, as advance notice of the finals period has been provided.

If you need any equipment please put in your order on or before 12 noon on Friday 18^th September.

• Age limit: Born on/after 1 Jan 2014 (must be 12 or under in 2026 for possible Croke Park selection).

  • Open to all eligible pupils in all codes.
  • A child cannot be selected in both codes in the same year.
  • A player may make only one Croke Park appearance per code (lifetime rule).

• Each year 240 children are selected to play in Croke Park in the colours of the competing senior teams in front of huge attendances. For the children who are selected it is a very proud and memorable occasion. Some of the children who have played in the mini sevens have gone on to represent their county in many competitions.
• The mini sevens is structured so that every county will be represented on one of the six days. A pupil from your school might be lining out on All Ireland Semi Final day or All Ireland Final Day 2025.
• Mini sevens – This year we are having a skills competition.
  (Closing date) = Mini sevens entry form to be submitted online by Friday 17^th October See below for links.
• No late entries or entries not submitted online will be accepted. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED VIA THE ONLINE FORM (email will not be accepted). (one boy and one girl for each code only… ie a co- ed school can send 1 boy and 1 girl in each code, a girls school 1 girl and a boys school 1 boy) in each code
  Remember this competition has age restrictions and will be strictly adhered to by the INTO.
• Age Limit .. Children To be born on or after January 1^st 2014

These competitions have age limits

1. Primary game selection  CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRY IS Saturday 31^st January 2026.
2. No more than one boy and one girl from any school may play in the Primary Game series in a given year. i.e. One boy from an all-boys school. One girl from an all-girls school. One boy and one girl from a mixed school.All children must be under 13 i.e. born on or after January 1^st 2011.All players must be in Sixth Class.

   A child may play in the Primary Go Games just once.

   Any child chosen to play in Croke Park in the INTO Mini Sevens is not eligible for the Primary Game.

   The objective is to see as many schools as possible represented in the Primary Game.

We will be doing Football first in February, starting with the girls football on 23rd and 26^th Feb and the boys Football on 24^th and 27^th Feb, then camogie will be on 9^th and 12^th March and hurling will be on 10^th and 13^th March. Sciath na Scol Indoor Series 2026.

The Indoor Camogie, Hurling and Football Series will take place as usual between early January and early February.

The closing date for entries is Friday, December 5th, and some fixtures will be issued before Christmas.

A few short notes:

• In the Indoor hurling/camogie 4th Class Series, schools may enter up to two teams in either the Non-Competitive or Competitive Series.

• Standard format is 7-a-side, though this may vary depending on venue size 

Indoor finals:

For schools entering the indoor hurling/camogie 4th Class Competitive Series, winners of the regional blitzes will qualify for the County Finals during the week of February 9th. (Finals usually played in Na Piarsaigh) • Finals will be played as 8-a-side.
3rd Class Peil Faoi Dhíon
• In the 3rd Class Peil Faoi Dhíon, schools may enter up to two teams.
• Pella posts will be used, which are installed in the listed venues. 

• Games are 6-a-side, though this may vary depending on venue size.

• The entry fee is €20 per team.

Please note that if a school enters teams but does not attend, the school will still be responsible for the entry fee. (fee to be paid by December 10^th) This is due to hall rental costs—once a venue is booked, it must be paid for regardless of attendance. It also causes difficulties for schools attending expecting to play.
